Clinical Background
Dr. Stephanie White has more than two decades of specialized experience across behavioral health, managed care, and forensic mental health. Her clinical work spans trauma-informed psychotherapy, comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, DSM-5 diagnostics, crisis intervention, and utilization management across MediCal, Medicaid, and Medicare programs. She has held clinical leadership roles in case management and grievances and appeals, and provides psycholegal documentation and trauma-focused treatment for personal injury cases. She also serves as an adjunct and associate professor in psychology, counseling, and social work programs.
How Dr. Approaches Every Evaluation
Every ESA evaluation I conduct is a genuine clinical assessment. I begin with a thorough review of the patient's mental health history and current symptoms, drawing on evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and prolonged exposure therapy. I determine whether a patient has a qualifying DSM-5 condition and whether an emotional support animal is clinically appropriate as part of their treatment plan. I issue a letter only when the clinical evidence supports it.
